Arts Award & Digital Portfolios

Creative Kids Arts Education Centre is registered to deliver the Arts Award. Arts Award is a range of unique qualifications that supports anyone aged up to 25 to grow as artists and arts leaders, inspiring them to connect with and take part in the wider arts world through taking challenges in an art form – from fashion to digital art, pottery to poetry.

Through progressing through the five levels, young people get to:

  • discover the enjoyment of creating and participating in arts activities
  • experience arts events
  • develop creative and communication skills that are essential for success in 21st century life
  • explore the work of artists and craftspeople and gain insights into the professional arts world
  • gain experience and knowledge to help progress into further education and employment

More information can be found on the Arts Awards Website

At Creative Kids Arts Education Centre, we offer members free enrolment onto the Discover, Explore and Bronze Awards. We do plan to extend this offer to Silver and Gold Awards in 2021. Since 2015 we are proud to announce we have awarded 275 Arts Award Certificates to local children.
Whilst attending sessions, children record their work on a Digital Portfolio called ‘Seesaw’.

Digital Portfolios - Using Seesaw App

Seesaw is an online platform where children can record their Arts Award Journeys and can be inspired by others work.

Here is a guide to logging on and uploading your work to Seesaw to keep up to date with your Arts Award. Remember you can upload any arts experiences you have such as visiting a museum or exhibition with your family as well as all the wonderful arts you take part in at Creative Kids – the most important part is recording evidence, showing that you attended and how it inspired you! It would be great to see what our members are doing at home!

Seesaw can be accessed via a webpage or through the app store.

  • Step 1

You will receive an email invite link to your child's individual Seesaw Journal. This link will say "Connect to [your child's name] Journey" Click the link provided in the email
  • Step 2

Once you have followed the link, create your own parent account [in your name with your email address]. Please create the account with the email you use to log into your Magic Booking Membership Parent Portal. Create a memorable password and sign in.
  • Step 3

Download the Seesaw app for easier viewing. Once logged in all content will appear on the home page or in your child's folder. This is where you can upload/ view all of their artwork that makes up their digital portfolios. All children have been shown how to use Seesaw but if you are unsure of how to navigate the app, please do not hesitate to email your queries to The Arts Centre Manager at centremanager@creativekids.org.uk who can offer additional support.

Please note: Seesaw is only available to Creative Kids Club Members.

Other Kid’s Club Members can see your child’s posts on a ‘Shared Wall’. When a child submits a post, The Arts Manager conducts a quick safety check to ensure it is age-appropriate. Please supervise your child and be careful that they do not post anything confidential to you or that you would not want in the public domain. Once the post is approved it will appear on the Shared Wall.
